I'm tempted to this this, will I be ok?
I just got my prescription from Target. I didn’t see my Dr , he just called the pharmacy for me so there were no discussion about my medicine until my next appointment.
He prescribed CIPROFLOXACIN 750 MG for 10 days, the problem is I’m in a weight loss plan, and I’m addicted to exercising, but when I read the medicine package it said no exercising or lifting. After reading this I went back to the pharmacist to double check and the lady I spoke to confirmed that no exercising, I don’t see myself not exercising for 10 days. What if I risk and run 5 miles at least 3 days a week and no lifting? Or what about just walking on a treadmill without running for a hr or so…if I lift what If i use light weights?
I know I should ask my Dr, I’ll feel embarrased he is an old grumpy man and he is my new Dr only been to his office once. I’m afraid to ask stupid questions.
Thanks
Why? Your asking the stupid question here.
No exercise or lifting for 10 days. This includes running, treadmills, lighter weights, etc.
What’s going to happen if you don’t for 10 days? It’s nice that your addicted to exercise and not something bad for you, but It’s only 10 days!
You have already checked the label warnings, reaffirmed them with a pharmacist, and now here with me. You have a bacterial infection, this is why he prescribed this. He didn’t prescribe this to you for no reason. Ciprofloxacin affects your heart rhythm causing fast/irregular beats. Put 2 and 2 together. But, this has already been told to you. What do you want people to say? Do it, exercise? Then do it, or don’t take the Ciprofloxacin at all. It’s your body and your health!
Good luck!

Sounds like you should do what the doctors tell you to do to be safe with your health. You can workout later.

if will not be ok if you do exercise where your heart rate will be elevated. instead of exercising try doing some meditative exercises and a lot of stretching.
Just to at least keep you limber for the 10 days you’re off the exercise routine.
You shouldn’t have to be afraid to ask your doctor questions about your health. that’s what they are there for. and if you cant be comfortable about asking your doctor a question then you should consider another doctor.
